AI Acapella Extractor

Isolate the vocal from any song as a clean acapella — for remixes, mashups, sampling and practice. The instrumental comes back too, as a separate file.

How the acapella extractor works

The model separates the voice from everything else by timbre and harmonic structure, not by cutting frequencies — so the acapella keeps its air and its reverb tail without the hi-hats bleeding in.

Upload the track

MP3, WAV, OGG or FLAC up to 100MB. Lossless or 320kbps sources give the cleanest acapella; a low-bitrate rip leaves artefacts in the quiet parts.

The vocal is modelled out

Demucs reconstructs the voice as its own signal. Lead vocals separate best; stacked harmonies and heavily effected vocals come out slightly less clean.

Download the acapella

One file with the vocal alone, one with the song without it. Play both in the browser before you download.

What people use the acapella extractor for

Anything that needs the voice on its own.

Remixes and mashups

Lay the isolated vocal over a new beat, or line two acapellas up over one instrumental.

Sampling and chops

Cut a phrase out of a clean vocal instead of a full mix, so the sample has no drums baked into it.

Vocal study and practice

Hear the phrasing, the breaths and the harmonies without the band, and sing along against the real vocal.

Covers with the original vocal as a guide

Use the acapella as a reference while you record your own take, then swap it out.

Acapella extractor FAQ

What is an acapella extractor?

A tool that isolates the singing from a finished song and gives it back as a separate file with no drums, bass or instruments — the vocal-only version producers call an acapella.

How is this different from the vocal remover?

Same separation, opposite emphasis. The vocal remover is for people who want the song without the singer; this page is for people who want the singer without the song. Both give you both files.

How clean is the acapella?

Clean enough to remix on for most studio recordings. Faint traces of the backing can remain under sustained notes and in reverb tails, and stacked harmonies separate less cleanly than a single lead.

Can it extract vocals from a YouTube link?

Not from a link — upload the audio file. Export or download the audio first, then drop the MP3 or WAV here.

Is the acapella extractor free?

It is part of the Pro plan (from $7.99 a month) and costs 4 credits per song. You get both files — the acapella and the instrumental — to download.

Can I release a remix made with the acapella?

Extracting the vocal does not change who owns the recording. Personal remixes, practice and study are fine; anything you publish or sell needs clearance for the original.

Pull the acapella out now

Drop the song in above. The isolated vocal comes back as its own file in about a minute, with the instrumental alongside it.
