Privacy Policy

Introduction

At MusicGenerater.com, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website or use our AI music generation services.

Information We Collect

Personal Information

We may collect personal information that you voluntarily provide, including:

  • Email address for account registration
  • Name and profile information
  • Payment information (processed securely by third-party providers)
  • Communication preferences

Usage Information

We automatically collect information about how you use the service:

  • The prompts, style descriptions, titles, and lyrics you submit
  • The tracks generated from them, and their metadata
  • Which features you use, and how often
  • Playback history for tracks you listen to on the site

Technical Information Collected to Prevent Abuse

Free usage is limited, and accounts can be suspended for breaching our content policy. To make either of those mean anything, we have to be able to tell one visitor from another. We record:

  • Your IP address, the country it resolves to, and your network operator (ASN)
  • Your browser user agent string (browser, version, operating system)
  • A device identifier your browser computes and sends us. It is a single short hash derived from your screen size and colour depth, time zone, language settings, processor and memory count, and a small test image drawn by your browser (a technique called canvas fingerprinting). We store only the hash, never the underlying values, and we do not use a third-party fingerprinting service.

This is used only to enforce usage limits, to detect one person creating many accounts to farm free credits, and to stop a suspended account from simply signing up again. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising or cross-site tracking, and we do not build a behavioural profile from it. It is kept for as long as we need it to enforce those limits, and you can ask us to delete it.

Model Providers and Audio You Upload

What Gets Sent Out

We do not run the music models ourselves. To generate a track, the text you submit — your prompt, style, title, and any lyrics — is sent to our third-party AI model provider, which runs the music models on our behalf. If you use a tool that takes an audio file, that file is sent to them too. Your name, email address, and IP address are not included.

Email Delivery

Account emails — the welcome message when you sign up, confirmation that credits you paid for have been added, and notices you asked for — are sent through our email provider, Resend. It receives your email address, your first name if your account has one, and the content of that email. It does not receive your songs, prompts, or payment details.

How Long It Is Kept

Files held by the model provider expire on their side, typically within two weeks. We copy finished tracks and cover images to our own storage so that they do not disappear from your library. Deleting a track from your library removes it from ours; we cannot delete copies held on a provider's infrastructure, and those expire on their own schedule.

We Do Not Train On Your Work

We do not use your prompts, lyrics, uploads, or generated tracks to train any model of our own, and we do not sell them to anyone for that purpose.

Public Tracks

On the free plan, tracks you generate are published to our public Explore page, where other visitors can listen to them and reuse their prompt. We do not display your name or email address alongside them. Paid plans keep tracks private.

Voice Recordings and Voice Models

If you use the AI Singing Voice Generator, you record a short singing sample in the browser, then sing or read back a line we show you. Both recordings are sent to our third-party AI model provider, which uses its custom-voice feature to check they are the same person and to create a voice that only your account can use. We keep both recordings as a record of your consent, and we do not use your voice for anything else or train our own models on it. You can delete a voice at any time from the generator, and deleting your account removes your voices, recordings and the songs you made with them.

Analytics and Cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people visit and which features get used. Google sets its own cookies and receives your IP address as part of that; their handling is governed by Google's privacy policy. Analytics only runs with your consent if you are in the EU, the UK or Switzerland, and anyone can turn it off: use the cookie banner, "Cookie preferences" in the footer, or Settings. Turning it off also deletes the analytics cookies already set. We do not use advertising cookies. Separately, our own servers log a few product events — for example that the song generator was opened, an idea was tapped, or a generation was started or failed (with the error code) — so we can find where the product breaks. These events never include what you typed. If you are signed in they are linked to your account; a random browser ID is only stored on your device if you allow analytics.

We set one cookie of our own, mg_session, which keeps you signed in. It is strictly necessary, is not used for tracking, and clearing it simply signs you out. Your cookie choice itself is remembered in your browser's local storage. With the same consent as analytics, we also set mg_ft for 30 days: it records the first page you landed on, the website that linked you here, and any campaign tags in the link, so we know which pages bring people who sign up. It is saved to your account only if you register, and rejecting analytics deletes it.

Your Rights Under GDPR and Similar Laws

If you are in the EU, the UK, or somewhere with comparable law, you have the right to access your data, to correct it, to have it deleted, to object to or restrict how we process it, and to receive a copy in a portable format.

Our legal bases for processing are: performance of a contract for the data needed to run your account and generate your tracks, and our legitimate interest in preventing abuse for the technical information described above.

You can delete your account yourself under Settings → Account → Delete account. It takes effect immediately and removes your profile, credits, every track you generated (including tracks shown publicly in Explore) and their files, audio you uploaded, your favourites and play history, and the device and network information recorded for your account.

Two things are kept after deletion, and only for these reasons. If your account breached our content policy, the record of that breach and any related block are retained so that deleting an account cannot be used to evade a suspension, and so we can defend legal claims (GDPR Art. 17(3)(e)). We also keep a one-way hash of your email address — not the address itself — so that signing up again with the same address does not grant a second sign-up bonus.

For any other request — access, correction, a copy of your data, or objecting to processing — email support@musicgenerater.com from the address on your account and we will respond within 30 days.
