- →Give it a real story. Names, places, dates and one turning point. "Crossed at 17, opened a shop in Fresno" makes a better corrido than "a hard-working man".
- →Say the language. Write the prompt in Spanish, or add "sung in Spanish". English corridos work too, but say so.
- →Name the instruments. Requinto and tololoche pull it toward tumbado; accordion and bajo sexto toward norteño; tuba and brass toward banda.
