# AI Background Music Generator

Background music for videos has one job: sit under your voice and keep the pace of the edit without pulling attention. Describe the footage rather than a feeling — a morning routine in a small apartment, a train ride through mountain towns, a weeknight pasta recipe — and say how fast the cuts are. Switch vocals off for anything you'll talk over; keep them for an intro or a montage with no voiceover. Two takes come back, so you can try both against the edit.

## Prompts you can use right now

Day in my life
Light, upbeat instrumental for a day-in-my-life vlog: coffee, bike ride to work, farmers market. Acoustic guitar, soft claps, steady medium tempo, no vocals.

Travel montage
Bright indie pop instrumental for a travel vlog montage of a train ride through mountain towns, quick cuts every couple of seconds. Driving drums, jangly guitar, no vocals.

Cooking video
Warm jazzy lo-fi instrumental for a cooking vlog: chopping, sizzling pans, a relaxed kitchen. Upright bass, brushed drums, soft Rhodes, no vocals, easy to talk over.

Channel intro
Catchy, upbeat pop song for the opening montage of a weekly van-life vlog, a short sung hook about hitting the road, handclaps and whistling.

## How to get background music that fits your video

- →If you talk over the footage, ask for an instrumental with a steady, uncluttered beat. Busy melodies fight your voice, even with the music turned down.
- →Match the tempo to your cutting speed: quick montages want a driving beat; sit-down talking segments want something sparse.
- →Describe the place and the activity. "Kitchen, Sunday morning" and "night market after dark" lead to different arrangements even at the same mood.
- →Build a small set for one channel — an intro, a bed for talking segments, a montage track — using the same instruments, so your videos sound like they belong together.

## How it works

- 1

### Describe the footage

What's on screen, how fast it's cut, and whether you'll be talking over it.

- 2

### Keep it instrumental

Leave vocals off for background; turn them on only for an intro or a montage with no voiceover.

- 3

### Test both takes against the edit

Try each version under your timeline and keep the one that fits the cuts.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I use the background music in YouTube videos and vlogs?

Songs made on the free plan are fine for personal videos. For monetized or sponsored videos, make them on a paid plan — commercial use is included there. The pricing page and our terms have the details.

### Should vlog music have vocals?

Usually not under talking — lyrics compete with your voice. Vocals work for intros, outros and montages with no voiceover.

### Can I keep the same sound across all my vlogs?

Reuse the same style words every time — for example "acoustic guitar, soft claps, medium tempo, instrumental" — and change only the scene. Each generation is different, but the sound tends to stay close.

### The music is too busy under my voice. What should I change?

Ask for fewer instruments, such as "just guitar and light percussion, sparse, no vocals", and generate again. Lowering the music in your editor helps too.

### Will my background music be public?

Songs made on the free plan are published publicly on the Explore page. Paid plans keep songs private.
